Susan Marks provides legal representation for the following types of issues related to DDD or ALTCS:
- An application for DDD (Division on Developmental Disabilities) was denied. Sometimes DDD denies eligibility because the applicant did not provide sufficient documentation to support a qualifying diagnosis or substantial functional limitations. If this is the case, Susan will provide guidance on how to gather the types of documentation DDD may need in order to establish that the individual does meet statutory eligibility. It’s important to note that eligibility is also redetermined on a periodic basis, so new documentation may be necessary in order to meet any additional eligibility criteria based on age.
- An application for ALTCS (Arizona Long Term Care System) was denied. In order to meet eligibility for ALTCS, it is important to know that eligibility for ALTCS is different than eligibility for DDD. In order to access many of the services an individual may need, he/she will need to also be found eligible for ALTCS. Determination for ALTCS is primarily made through scoring on a PAS (Pre-Admission Screening) tool. Susan will review the records in order to determine if the individual could meet ALTCS eligibility and make recommendations accordingly. If there is a need for additional documentation in order to meet eligibility for ALTCS, Susan can assist in this process.
- DDD or ALTCS complaints. Susan can provide guidance on how to submit a Quality of Care complaint, or if preferred, she can be retained to draft the Quality of Care complaint.
